Aphasia (Language Skills After Stroke or Brain Injury)

We provide comprehensive aphasia assessment and therapy for adults who have difficulty speaking, understanding, reading, or writing after a stroke or brain injury.

We identify each person’s strengths and challenges, then create an individualized therapy plan focused on meaningful, real-life communication goals. Treatment may include word-finding strategies, conversation practice, reading and writing support, and technology-based tools. Our goal is to improve communication, rebuild confidence, and support fuller participation at home and in the community.

Dysarthria & Apraxia (Motor Speech Disorders)

We assess and treat speech changes caused by muscle weakness (dysarthria) or motor planning difficulties (apraxia).
Adults may experience slurred speech, inconsistent sound errors, changes in speech rate, or difficulty initiating words.

Therapy targets clearer, more coordinated speech through structured practice, breath support training, articulation work, and motor planning exercises. Each plan is tailored to the individual’s needs and adjusted as recovery progresses, with the goal of improving intelligibility and everyday communication.

Cognitive-Communication Disorders

We provide assessment and therapy for cognitive-communication changes following stroke, brain injury, concussion, or neurological illness.

These challenges may affect memory, attention, organization, problem-solving, and social communication. We design individualized therapy plans that include practical strategies, compensatory tools, and real-world practice to support daily tasks, relationships, and community participation. Our approach helps adults regain confidence and independence while navigating work, school, and personal and family responsibilities.

Swallowing Disorders (Dysphagia)

We offer dysphagia assessment and treatment to support safe and comfortable swallowing.

We evaluate chewing and swallowing coordination and potential safety risks, then develop a personalized plan that may include targeted exercises, swallowing strategies, and diet recommendations. When appropriate, we collaborate with physicians, dietitians, and ENT specialists to ensure coordinated care. Safe swallowing supports nutrition, hydration, and quality of life—and we are here to guide that process with clarity and care.

Voice

We provide adult voice assessment and therapy for hoarseness, vocal fatigue, pitch changes, strain, or voice loss related to medical conditions, overuse, or neurological disorders.

We evaluate vocal habits, breath support, and voice quality, and collaborate with ENT specialists when needed. Therapy may include vocal function exercises, tension reduction techniques, breath training, and vocal health education. Whether you rely on your voice professionally or personally, we help you use it with greater ease and confidence.

Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) & Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Rehabilitation

We provide specialized assessment and therapy for adults recovering from acquired brain injury (ABI) after motor vehicle accidents. Brain injuries can affect communication, cognition, voice, swallowing, and everyday functioning, making it harder to return to work, school, and daily life. Our team delivers personalized, evidence-based therapy that helps clients rebuild skills and regain confidence. We also partner with SPARK to streamline referrals and coordinate care within Ontario’s auto insurance system, working alongside rehabilitation teams, insurers, and other professionals to support each client’s recovery.
